Most visitors arrive via the 30-minute drive from St. Louis, while Highway 67 serves as the main north-south route for longer trips. The city sits where the Mississippi, Missouri, and Illinois rivers converge, and downtown features a life-size bronze statue of Robert Wadlow, the world's tallest recorded man at 8 feet 11 inches.
