Altheimer is a small farming town in Arkansas's Delta region, about 15 miles southeast of Pine Bluff on Highway 79. With just over 500 residents, it sits in the heart of the Grand Prairie rice-growing area. Most visitors arrive via Highway 79 from Pine Bluff or I-530. The town serves as a gateway to some of Arkansas's most productive agricultural land, where flooded rice fields attract massive flocks of migrating ducks and geese each winter.
