Alpena is a small Ozark Mountain town along Highway 65 in north-central Arkansas, about 140 miles north of Little Rock. The main route is Highway 65 north from the capital, with Highway 206 providing local east-west connections. Harrison and Boone County Airport lie 20 miles south. The old Alpena Store still marks the town's central crossroads.
