Almena is a small farming town in northwestern Wisconsin, about 15 miles from Rice Lake via Highway 25. Most visitors come from the Twin Cities area (90 miles southwest) or Eau Claire via Highway 53 north to Highway 25 east. The town of 641 sits among rolling farmland in Barron County, with limited services but plenty of rural scenery. The historic grain elevator from 1917 still towers over Main Street and remains in operation.
