Alma is a farming town of 450 people in Lafayette County, about 30 miles east of Kansas City via Highway 24. The main route connects through Lexington to I-70 for Kansas City access, while Highway 13 runs north-south nearby. The town's restored 1880s railroad depot serves as its community center and historical museum.
