Alma is a small college town in central Michigan, home to Alma College and the Gratiot County seat. Located on US-127 about 45 miles north of Lansing, it's easily accessible from major highways. The surrounding area features typical Michigan farmland and forests. The city is famous for its annual Highland Festival, which draws thousands of visitors each Memorial Day weekend for Scottish games, pipe bands, and what's billed as the largest bagpiper gathering in the Midwest.
