Alliance sits in northeastern Ohio about 20 miles from Canton and 60 miles southeast of Cleveland. Interstate 77 runs just west of town, providing the main north-south corridor, while State Route 62 cuts east-west through the city center. Most visitors arrive via Route 62 west to I-77, with Route 44 offering access northeast to Youngstown. The University of Mount Union calls Alliance home, and its Purple Raiders football team holds more NCAA Division III national championships than any other program.
