Allerton is a tiny farming town in eastern Illinois, reachable via State Route 1 about 20 miles south of Danville. Most folks arrive from I-74 near Oakwood, then take county roads east to Route 1. The historic grain elevator towers over the surrounding cornfields and serves as the town's most recognizable landmark.
