Alleman is a small farming town of 429 people in central Iowa, about 20 miles northeast of Des Moines. Take I-35 north from Des Moines to Highway 210 east, or Highway 210 south from Ames. The town sits amid corn and soybean fields and is known for its towering 1953 grain elevator that still processes crops from local farms.
