Alexandria is a tiny farming town of about 100 people in northeastern Missouri near the Iowa border. Highway 81 runs north-south through town, connecting to Kahoka 12 miles south and Keokuk, Iowa 15 miles northeast. Route 136 provides east-west access to Canton and Kirksville. The town sits among fertile river bottomland where several tributaries feed the Des Moines River system.
