Alexander is a small oil boom town of 255 people in western North Dakota's Bakken region. Highway 85 runs north-south through town, connecting to Williston 25 miles north and linking with Highway 200 for east-west travel. The restored 1916 wooden grain elevator stands as a rare survivor from the area's agricultural past.
