Albers is a small farming town in south-central Illinois, about 45 minutes east of St. Louis via I-64. Take Exit 34 and follow local roads north to reach this community of 1,300 residents. State Route 161 runs east-west through town, connecting to nearby communities, while Scott Air Force Base sits 15 miles southwest. The town still operates one of Illinois' few remaining one-room schoolhouses.
