Albany is a tiny Athens County town of about 1,000 people in southeastern Ohio's hill country. State Route 32 runs right through town, connecting it to Athens 15 miles northeast and other parts of the region. The area features the rolling, wooded terrain typical of Ohio's Appalachian foothills. Despite its small size, Albany maintains its own municipal government, making it one of the county's smallest incorporated cities.
