Ailey is a small Montgomery County town along US Highway 280 in south-central Georgia's pine country. Located about 30 miles from Dublin and 45 miles from Vidalia, it serves as a quiet waypoint on this major east-west route connecting Savannah to Columbus. The town was named after a local family and remains one of Georgia's smallest incorporated places with around 500 residents.
