Agency is a small Missouri River valley town of 871 people, about 45 miles north of Kansas City via I-29 and Highway 169. The main route connects through St. Joseph, 15 miles south, where you'll find services and Rosecrans Memorial Airport. Highway 59 runs east-west through farm country toward Iowa. The town sits on the original Pony Express route, with historical markers still marking the old mail trail to California.
