Adrian is a small college town in southeastern Michigan, about 70 miles from Detroit and 30 miles from Toledo. US Highway 223 runs north-south through town, connecting to Ann Arbor and continuing into Ohio, while State Route 52 provides the main east-west route. Most long-distance travelers use Highway 223 to reach US-23 for Detroit-area destinations or head south through Toledo to Interstate 80. Adrian College's brick campus buildings define the downtown area in this otherwise agricultural community.
