Addison is a small Winston County town about 45 miles northwest of Birmingham via I-65 north to US 278 west. Most visitors use US 278 as the main east-west route, with State Route 195 providing north-south access. The drive from Birmingham takes under an hour through increasingly hilly terrain leading to Alabama's Appalachian foothills. The town serves as a gateway to Bankhead National Forest and features a 36-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty in its center.
