Aberdeen is a small North Carolina city in the Sandhills region, connected by US Highway 1 running north to Raleigh and south toward South Carolina. NC Highway 5 links it east to the Pinehurst golf resort area. Most traffic involves short trips to neighboring Southern Pines and Pinehurst, while longer routes serve visitors from Raleigh or Charlotte via US-1. The Malcolm Blue Farm preserves the state's last working waterwheel-powered gristmill.
