Abbeville is a small Louisiana city about 20 miles southwest of Lafayette, reached via US Highway 167 or State Route 14. It's the Vermilion Parish seat in the heart of Acadiana's rice and sugarcane country. The restored 1910 courthouse downtown has a clock tower that chimes every hour, and you can still hear Cajun French spoken around the town square.
